NEWS
---------------------8/19/08------------------
Well it has been a couple months since I got the
website updated.  A lot has happened over the 6
weeks.  We held the Roar 5th scale Nationals, Roar
on-road regionals and the Rc Pro Series race.
All the race really went well.  Although low
turnouts for the Nats. and regionals everyone had
a great time with competitive racing.
Since we were one of the host tracks for the Rc Pro
Series race that required that we need to rebuild
the track.   This could of not happened  with out the
outstanding efforts from Jay Seacrest and Justin
Steeby along with a lot of help from some of the
other members.
The Rc Pro Series also showed a bit of low turnout
as well but with over 85 entries it seemed that
there was a lot of good racing in all the different
classes.
Be sure to check out some of the pics and results.
Just a reminder we will be having our 4th annual
free 4th of July race for both onroad and offroad
this Friday.  Racing is planned to begin between
5:00 and 6:00.  Plan to stay after the races for free
for food and for front row seats to the city of
Lincolns Fireworks show.  Parking will be reserved
for racers and their families where we normally
park during weekly races.

Don't forget that this Tuesday July 1st will be our
monthly club meeting.  Please remember that we
will having it at the rib Ranch on 66th and 'O' St.
This will be a important for all to attend with the
5th scale Nats.  coming up as well as the proseries
race.  I know that there are quite a few racers that
have different views on what we should do about
the off road track for the pro series race so this is a
good time to let your vice be heard.

----------------------6/11/08-------------------
Well I guess this would be a good time to update
you all about a few things happening.  First I hope
everyone is safe on this very stormy night.
The past couple weeks we have had the Fireball
Classic race as well as a HOA race.  Check the results
to see were you finished.  The weather held out for
the Fireball race but we were unable to get Sunday
in for the HOA race.  Both Races were attended well
with great racing.  MRO would like to thank Byron's
Fuel, Delta, Jaco Tires for there support at the
FireBall Race.
The next MRO meeting will be Tuesday July 1st at
Rib Ranch located at 66th & O st.  This is right next
to the McDonald's.  The meeting will still be at 7:00
pm.  They said that we will able to use the back
room at no cost as long we all eat ( I don't think that
will be a problem) .  This will be an important
meeting because we have the upcoming 4th of July
race and th 5th scale Nats.  So we have a lot of
things that need to taken care of.
-----------------------5/8/08--------------------
Some exciting news for MRO was made offical this week.  We
were selected to hold the ROAR 1/5th scale Nationals which
will be held July 31st through August 3rd.  Make sure to mark
your calenders to come out and watch some of the coolest
RC cars around.  I will updating more info as we get closer to
the event.

Don't forget that the Fireball Classic will be coming up soon.
Memorial Day weekend is the date for this event.  If you
haven't signed up yet please do so soon so we can make sure
you get a t-shirt for preregistering.  If you need to sign up be
sure click on the Fireball logo on this page or you can go to rc
signup and register you can click on that logo.

Now hopefully one of these Fridays we will be able to race
some off road.  We just need it to quit rainig on Fridays.  Be
sure to check here on race days to see if racing has been
canceled due to rain.

Finally I would like to let everyone know that you will be
recieving a free t-shirt with your annual MRO membership
this year so once we get the t-shirts from the printers we will
be handing them out to everyone that pays for a
membership.

Just want to let everyone know that the track is ready for
racing.  We have had a lot of great help the past couple weeks
to get it ready.

Everything is a go we put in a new start finish loop before pit
lane on the straight away.  I hooked everything up and tested
it tonight and its counting.  So no issues with that.  We
bought a new printer with plenty of ink so no issues with that.

I know that a lot people are anxious to get racing locally so
come on down and race all of you from up north!!! Or
wherever you may reside.  All  of the Lincoln guys seem to be
geared up as we had about ten guys running tonight!!

One last thing I will be running the races again on Friday
nights and I am excited to get things rolling.

There is a lot of people to thank for all there help this spring.
Jason, Jesse, Lance, Will, Reed, Carl, Kris, Jay, Nate, Steve,
Mark, Mike, one other new guy that I can't remember his
name, and whoever else that I forgot thanks.

--------------------04/23/08-------------------

I just need to say a big thanks goes out to Jay Secreast
that helped me out quite a bit with the track this spring he
will be one of the new racers this summer and he has been
out helping work on the track nearly everyday for the last
ten days.

Please everyone come out and race here in Lincoln its a
new season with a lot positive changes that will make for a
great season of racing.

Sign up starts at 6:30 with racing at 7:00

MRO would like to thank Dan and Chelsy Schmidt owners
of the SouthPointe HobbyTown. They made a very
generous donation to the club this week. Please make sure
to thank Dan and or Chelsy the next time you stop by the
store. Please return the favor by giving them your
business. The local hobby shops are what keep these
tracks going. If it wasn't for them Lincoln nor Omaha
would no have any where to race. Due to the fact that we
do have very generous hobby shops we collectively have
the nicest on road, carpet, and off road tracks in the nation
all within a hour of each other. No online store did
anything to help this happen. And no online store has
dedicated employees to make our local tracks work like we
do.

I also want to let everyone know also that I have been
listening to what the racers have been asking and have
been ordering and stocking more racer type stuff at the SP
HTU. I have ordered in bunch of different pre mounted
truggy tires, engines, pipes, Losi lipo receiver and starter
box batts., Losi buggy rims, Byron's fuel (that we have
nearly sold out already but will be getting more) the
associated servos(the ace ones) and many more things.
Dan has given me a lot of freedom to get the things the
racers want and need. I will be getting a better idea of
what people need chassis wise once the racing begins and I
know what everyone is running and what seems to be the
more popular chassis raced

Thanks

Just a little update we got pit lane built so now it will be taller
and wider the height measures about 3 foot high and top is
about 7 foot wide we also built a bench on it for your starter
box truck or buggy.I went out and laid out the pipe where it
will go.  We still have a lot of work that needs to be done I
hope to get more dirt so we can finish all the jumps.I hope to
be out at the track working in the evenings this week from 3
till ??  So anyone that wants to help would be greatly
appreciated
